About this deal

Take the Cheerios on hard floor test out of the equation, however, and the rest of the results are technically perfect. There were some elements left behind on a single pass, but not enough to register more than 1g of weight on my kitchen scales. Throughout I've been comparing the Hoover HF9 to the Shark Stratos, as I think these two vacuums are close competitors. While I would say that the performance of the Shark Stratos may slightly tip the scales, the affordability and lightweight design of the HF9 makes it an option that I would tell anyone on a budget to go for, especially if you can find it at a discounted price. The HF500 Anti-Twist has an improved run time over the previous models, despite an increase in power! Now you can clean for even longer between charges! The HF500’s turbo mode now lasts 25% longer. Fast charging This Hoover is so light! Once I had put it together I was so surprised, this is the most lightweight vacuum I have ever used. We live in a three storey house and it’s no fun lugging a heavy vacuum up two flights of stairs so this is brilliant for us. It’s compact size also makes storing it easy too. It stands upright on it’s own, you can make it shorter to go in a cupboard or it also comes with a wall mount so you can hang it up. How does it work? Two colour coded indicators are featured on the front of the cleaner, one to keep you informed of the batteries charge level and the other to alert you when maintenance of the filters are required.

Starting with the Cheerios, the HF500 performed well. There are vents at the front of the floor head – gaps that can draw in and swallow larger items, such as chunky breakfast cereal. And then this picture was taken just today after two weeks of daily use which included the vacuuming of my bedroom which was the real test as that is where I dry my (very long) hair. As you can see there is only a few strands of hair wrapped around the centre where there is a break in the roller strip. This was easily snipped off in a couple of seconds and compared to my hair getting wrapped up in vacuums in the past this is absolutely nothing! I was dubious about the anti hair wrap working at all and it really exceeded my expectations. I can also see how much it’s working when I empty the dust canister as it’s visibly full of hair. I also thought that the spare filter and attachment bag that comes with the HOOVER HF500Anti-Twist is a really nice touch and helps to keep everything in one place. All the attachments can be used attached to the main unit or the tube allowing you to have extended reach when required. If there’s one thing that’s slightly disappointing, it’s the battery life. As you can see from the chart below, some vacuum cleaners at this kind of price come with enough power to clean for an hour on their lightest settings. With no Economy setting on this vacuum, there’s no option to reduce the suction down to eke out a few more minutes. Finally, there’s the flour on carpet test. Here, the Hoover HF9 also performed magnificently. It collected the entire spill in terms of weight, and I couldn’t see any remaining particles when I inspected it, either.

When fully charged, the HF500 offers up to 45 minutes of use in auto mode**, or 25 minutes in standard mode. When you want maximum suction, it offers 10 minutes of use in Turbo Mode. The battery can be charged in the vacuum or separately and should reach full charge in 2 1/2 hours. My absolute favourite thing about this model is that hair doesn’t wrap around the brush due to the integrated comb. The brush in the main vacuum attachment is easy to take out and clean, but despite weeks of use I haven't had to clean it once as it remains hair free. There are 3 long haired females living here and a cat so with my old cordless I had to clean the brush at least once a week, cutting through an impressive coating of hair. The brilliant Hoover design has meant no hair gets caught in the brush and it all goes into the dust container.Above the buttons is a simple screen with icons showing what mode you’re in (carpet or hard-floor) and whether Turbo is engaged. The rest of the display shows the number of minutes of cleaning left on the device before the battery runs out. If the vacuum is plugged in, it will display the percentage of charge the battery has available instead.

The other option for emptying all the dust out is to take the dust container off the motorised part. You then need to remove the filters before tipping the dust into the bin, but you can get a much better clean this way. All of these parts can be washed to get them really clean too, but make sure they are completely dry before reassembling to the motorised parts. Storage Hook This compact and light vacuum cleaner reduces to a cupboard-friendly height of 69cm for easy storage, while its free-standing position makes it easy to pause in the middle of cleaning. AD I received the new Hoover Anti-Twist cordless cleaner to review. The first thing I noticed when it was delivered was how small and light the box was for a vacuum cleaner. This Hoover lives up to it's claim of being compact, but I found there is still enough space in the dust container for me to whizz round the house. I have been using this cleaner for my daily vacuuming of rugs, carpet, wood and tiled floors for the last couple of weeks so I have been able to test it out thoroughly. Look out for my 20% discount code at the end of this post. Most of us in the UK refer to all vacuum cleaners as ‘Hoovers’, they truly are the OG brand of vacuum cleaners and they’re still totally bossing the vacuum cleaner world with a gorgeous range of products, including the HF500 Anti Twist Pets Hoover HF500 Anti Twist: What’s in the box?

Introducing the NEW HF500 Anti-Twist cordless vacuum cleaner - the new and improved cordless vacuum with anti-twist hair detangle floorhead, improved battery and fast charging. I spend hours every year having to remove hair from my corded vacuum cleaner so I was really intrigued to see how the anti twist feature would work. At 0.45l, the collection bin is relatively compact for a full-size cordless, so you can be pretty certain that it will need emptying at the end of most significant cleaning jobs.

With a large LED light strip on the front and compact parking position this vacuum has all the features you need including a 2in1 furniture and dusting tool along with a mini power nozzle which is ideal for pet owners when cleaning upholstery.Overall, this is a brilliant vacuum cleaner that has great suction, great maneuverability and is nice and lightweight with plenty of attachment for all your vacuum cleaning needs. THE DISCOUNT However, the battery performed well in its Turbo mode, delivering 13 mins 15 secs of cleaning before giving out. The other saving grace is that the battery takes only 2.5 hours to fully recharge, which is significantly faster than most rivals. The battery charges 58% faster which is a huge improvement and means even if you forget to charge it your Hoover wont be out of action for long. The HF500 Anti-Twist offers our most powerful cordless cleaning, thanks to a new and improved motor. As I previously mentioned, I particularly like using the dusting tool around the home and the crevice tool is perfect for those hard to reach spots where cobwebs and dust gather. It can be charged anywhere
